My holy grail products.

These products are staples in my makeup bag. Ones that I repurchase and use on a daily basis. My favourites that never let me down.

Too faced sweet peach pallete

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few months this palette is crazy popular. Not only are the colours gorgeous, it fricking smells amazing. Who doesn’t want to put a smelly pink eyeshadow on every morning!? Also the pay off is so good, they blend amazing and last all day. This is the first high end pallete that I can see a massive difference from high street. Total fave.

Mac fix+

This is another one probably every one has. If not, get one. It has so many uses. My favourite is to apply shimmer eyeshadows. Also it’s great over makeup, under makeup or to make any product more pigmented.

Maybelline lash sensational

I literally have used this mascara for years. I can’t find a better one. It lengthens and adds volume. Plus it’s really cheap. Win.

Becca highlighter in champagne pop

Thanks to Jacqueline Hill we all got our glow on last year. This costs a bloody fortune and I’m getting so low that I’m willing it to last. There are billions of amazing highlighters out now but I always end up reaching for this one when I want that extra something.

Collection 24 hour felt liner

I love me a good flick. This is the only eyeliner I can use, and that doesn’t dry out. It’s super easy and so so cheap.

Urban decay all nighter foundation

This is a recent addition and the only foundation I’ve liked in a while. It’s really full coverage and lasts. I’m not 100% addicted, but I hate foundation shopping, it’s a pain trying to find my pale colour and one that doesn’t break me out, so this is staying for the time being. If you know any other ones I could try let me know!

October Favorites!

How is it November? I know everyone’s saying it but still, this year is flying by. Literally preparing myself to get the christmas tree up!

Anyway, these are the things I’ve been loving this month!

Beauty:

  • Mac Fix+

I bought this for the hype, not sure what its purpose was. But now im obsessed. My favorite thing to use it for is to intensify my eye shadows, making them slightly tacky as well so they stay on longer.

  • Smashbox fusion soft lights

This is another one that I couldn’t figure out its’ use (see a theme here). I mean in my defence, it doesn’t have a name like highlighter or face powder. I tried it as a highlight and it wasn’t as pigmented as I am used to (that champagne pop has spoiled me). I read some where people use it as a bronzer and powder, and I am in love. It sets my skin, while giving it some warmth and also giving a subtle all over shimmer. LOVE. Such an underestimated product.

  • bh Cosmetics brushes

I got this set on holiday but i’ve seen it avalible in lots of places here in the UK too. Its so cheap, contains ten brushes that vary from face to eyes. I love the foundation one, a flat top kabuki thats so soft and blends so well. They brushes are really good quality and you really get a lot for your money.

Perfume:

  • Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey

You know that perfume you’ve been after for ages, spray all over yourself every time you hit debenhams and wish you could afford. Well this is that perfume for me, and I treated myself on holiday as it was so much cheaper. Its a different quirky smell that smells different after its settled but i love it so much, my new signature scent.

Music:

  • Rockabye baby – Clean Bandit, Sean Paul and Anne Marie
  • My Way- Calvin Harris
  • Shoutout to my ex – Little Mix
  • The Greatest – Sia ft Kendrick Lamar

Others:

  • Yoga

I always used to practice yoga everyday, but with holidays and moving house and third year at uni, its took a back seat for a few months, I had a few shitty weeks with anxiety lately so I did a few yoga youtube videos and I completely fell back in love with it. I’d forgot how calm and refreshed I feel after, and how unfit I feel now haha.

  • Autumn

As much as I miss the sun and summer, I have to admit there’s something cosy about the dark nights and snuggling up with hot chocolate under a mountain of blankets. Plus all the good TV starts coming on now, hibernation it is.

My 10 top highstreet products!

Hi guys,

As much as I love splashing out on some gorgous high end products, most of the time my money goes on reliable brands in boots and superdrug, especially with the state of my student loan…

Anyway, some products don’t need you need to waste your money on high end, because they do a pretty damn good job anyway. So these are my favourite go to affordable products…

1. Revlon Colourstay Foundation.

So if you’ve read any of my previous posts you’ll know my absolute love for this. It’s now my only foundation that I chose over many high end products. And recently I repurchased and it now comes with a pump… Win!

2. Makeup revolution blush palette in ultra spice

So this blush palette contains 8 shades, including 2 baked shimmers. The bronze colours I also use as eyeshadow or a sort of bronzer in the summer. It’s quite pigmented and contains a range of colours.

3. Kiko Milano bronzer

I love this bronzer, it’s matte and perfect for both an all over sun kissed look, and as a contour. It’s blendable and pigmented. It also comes with a mirror perfect for in your handbag.

4. MUA shimmer highlighter

This is a recent perchase and I’ll admit, it’s not the same quality as high end products but for £3! You can’t go wrong. It’s super pigmented and easy to apply.

5. Maybelline lash sensational mascara

I’ve spoke about this a million times… Best. Mascara. EVER! And now I’ve saw a new version released with oil to nurish the lashes…

6. Revlon colour burst balm stain

I got this free in a set recently and didn’t have high hopes. But I actually love it for every day. It’s super moisturising and makes your lips look healthy. It provides the right amount of pigment perfect for a day look. Also it smells amazing.

7. Makeup revolution lipstick in rebel with cause

I’ve had this lipstick a while and I love it. It doesn’t dry your lips and stays on well… All for a pound!

8. Kate moss lipstick in 01

Another absolute favourite of mine. I wear this nearly every day I love it. And it’s matte but doesn’t dry your lips.

9. MUA lip liner in caramel nougat

This is also a pound! I always pair it with the Kate moss lipstick. It may need reapplying a few times through out the day but it’s the perfect nude.

From top: Revlon Balm Stain, Revolutoin Rebel with cause, Kate Moss Lipstick, MUA lipliner
10. Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent powder

I do want to try a loose powder eventually but for now this is perfect and well loved as you can see. I always carry it with me for top ups throughout the day.

That’s is for now. Let me know any others I can try!

Makeup I love and hate.

Do you have a pile of products that you bought and discovered were pretty rubbish? It’s so annoying when you spend your money on something and it turns out to be disappointing. And it’s even more annoying when, like me, you’re a student living in your overdraft and every penny counts.

So I thought I’d rummage through my products and let you know what’s worth the cash and what needs to be avoided.

Love:

Maybelline Lashsensational mascara:

I bloody love this mascara. I’m on my third one and I don’t intend to change. I don’t need to wear fake lashes anymore because these do a fabulous job of making my lashes super long and full of volume. It’s really affordable and well worth the money.

Collection Extreme Felt tip liner

This is fab. I use it every day and I’ve mastered the perfect wing. It’s not too skinny or fat, and isnt too long which I find better to control. It also doesn’t dry out, and is three quid…. So you can practice your wing till your hearts content.

Smashbox lipglosses

I have a variety of colours and these are pretty much the only glosses I like. They’re not too sticky, and have just the right amount of pigment. They’re great on their own or on top of lipsticks.

Real techniques sponge

When I first got this I was bit stuck as to how to use it. But now I use it everyday to help blend all my makeup. There are so many ways you can use it, and you don’t ever have to worry about cakeyness or unblended foundation again. Just make sure you wash them with soap regularly.

Nivea night cream

This smells amazing and is super rich and creamy. It’s perfect for young skin that doesn’t need expensive anti wrinkle creams. It leaves your skin really soft and glowing in the morning.

Rimmel Clear Brow Gel

I don’t know what I did before this. It makes your eyebrows seem more ‘real’ after you’ve filled them in. And it holds them in place, as well as ensuring the colour doesn’t rub off. Definitely a must in your makeup bag.

Hate:

L’oreal super liner eyeliner

I’ve only had this two months and it’s dried out. And even before it had it was never dark enough, it needed a fair few layers to be able to be seen. Also, the pen is too small, which is super annoying and makes everything tricky.

Loreal true match crayon concealer

I did a first impressions on this a while back but that’s completely changed now. This morning I almost reached the end of it, I have only had it a month. It also makes my skin really dry and cakey. I’ll be definitely back to my liquid concealers after this.

No 7 midnight lash mascara

I was expecting big things. But my lashes are tiny. Seriously. Three coats and nothing. And this mascara isn’t really that cheap so I was quite annoyed. Definitely don’t waste your money.

Benefit tint

I’ve had this a few years and I keep going back to it hoping to fall in love but I just don’t get it. I mean, it’s red, which I think is a bit of a bright odd colour for blush, and it feels weird putting a liquid on my cheeks. The consistency is very watery and something I wouldn’t choose to put on my skin. As a lip product it seems very drying. All in all I’d say I’m staying away.

Urban Decay Naked Foundation

This might not be a crucial thing to most people but it stinks. It’s like putting paint on your face. And the coverage isn’t great. Luckily I only got a free tester, definitely won’t be purchasing.

So that’s it, hope this helps in deciding what to splash out on. Everyone will find the products different so this is just my opinion but I hope it helps!

I’ve also realised that the products I don’t like are generally the higher end products, which just shows you don’t have to spend a fortune to get good quality products. Thank goodness.

Let me know what you think and any products I should try!

My fave lipsticks.

I was pondering over what to post today and I thought, why not stick with what you know. Which is lipsticks…

I do love me a good lipstick. And you’ll notice in the photo above there are no designer lipsticks. I do own a few, ysl and Estée Lauder, but they didn’t make the top picks. Probably because I love popping into superdrug that often to try a million new colours, and my student budget appreciates the low prices. That being said, for how cheap these are they are pretty amazing.

Working left to right:

Rimmel Kate Moss

The first two are ones I’ve included in a recent post, and I can’t emphasise enough how much I love them. I get so many compliments and they are just so easy to wear. Super affordable and easy to get a hold of. Shades 08 and 101.

Collection Lasting Colour

I’d been looking for the perfect brown shade for a while, and I saw this for I think around 3 pound. It’s really creamy and not too dark. I’d say using a lip liner would help in getting more definition as its soft creamy texture wouldn’t quite stay put, but I was definitely happily suprised with this. Shade Rosewood.

Barbra Daley

This is one my mom recently got for me, she obviously knows about my addiction. This range is exclusive to tesco and it was part of a Christmas set that they were selling off. It also contained a crayon and lipstick gloss, all for £1.30. Yep. But it’s such a good colour for me. Slightly red on, which is something different for me. And is quite matte which I also love. Shade stylish.

Makeup Revolution

Now I probably don’t need to go into detail about how good these are. They’re a pound. A pound! Which is perfect when you don’t feel super guilty buying a million. This is probably my favourite ever lipstick. I love this bold purple plum shade. It compliments my light skin and it perfect to pop on for a night out or when your feeling a bit of boldness. It’s light and glides on easy. Definitely try it. Shade rebel with cause.

Flormar

Now this is a lipstick I got on holiday in Turkey last year. They don’t currently sell in the uk but they do have shops in lots of other countries, so if your ever on holiday, keep an eye out . But it’s a lovely coral pink and super matte. Shade 207.

Let me know if you’ve tried any, or any others I could add.

February Favourites!

FullSizeRender [52720]

So this is my first favourites post! I don’t know how it’s march next week, feels like christmas was only yesterday! Anyway here are a few of the random things I’ve been loving over the past month…

Beauty:

FullSizeRender [52724]

Firstly, how gorgeous is this blush palette? I literally use it every day, it has every colour i can want, and even includes two baked shades, to use as highlighter. Also, the brown shades can also be used as contour. It comes in a sleek black shiny palette, with a huge mirror ideal for travel. And to top it off, it was only six pound! If your looking for a blush on a budget this is ideal, especially if you’re unsure what shade to get. This is the ‘sugar and spice’ palette.

Next, the rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick is one i showed in a recent haul post. I thought it would be a typical brown shade similar to what I already owned, but when on it has a burgundy tone, and just suits my skin tone so well. It’s the shade 08.

Lastly the Urban Decay Brush came with my Smokey Palette. I’m pretty sure they sell these separately as well. But for a free brush that comes free it’s so good! There’s a short end for applying precise colour to crease or specific areas, and the fluffy blending end. Love it.

The Zara Perfume I had for christmas, and I wear it almost every day for work. Its an easy to wear sweet fragrance, and in such a big  bottle you can afford to slosh it on. It’s called 12:00 Sunday Morning.

The tangle teezer is amazing. If you havent got one, invest. This one has a cover so is perfect to pop in your handbag.

Mark Hill MiracOILicious is a hair mark you pop on in the shower after washing your hair, and you leave it in for two minutes, wash out and boom, silky smooth hair. Such a good idea and perfect when your hair needs some TLC.

I treated myself. I have a slight Ted Baker Addiction at the moment. And when I saw this at an Ted Baker outlet i just had to. I mean how adorable is it. It’s the first ‘designer’ handbag i’ve ever bought myself so I was so excited when I bought it with the rest of my birthday money. It’s such a good size for every day and I’m always a sucker for pink.

The earrings are just one of the many items of jewellery I had for my birthday. These earrings are actually off my brother, bless him. They are perfect to wear with any outfit. Although I’m trying not to wear any of my new jewellery to work as I got my Gucci Bracelet stuck in a test tube rack… as you do.

I know I’m 21 but…. they are so cute! They’re from Primark. I love despicable me, well tbh most kids movies… but these pajamas are just so adorable.

I finally have a plant that I haven’t killed! I love this bright plant, it makes my room feel so much brighter and spring-y. I just need to remember to water it….

If you’ve got this far I hoped you enjoyed this and let me know if you have any of these too.
