My Skin Care Routine and Products.

Hi everyone,

So I’m not an expert but i thought i’d share what skincare products I use that work for me. Everyone has different skin types, but i’d class myself as normal to combination, so these products might work for you. Also, they’re all affordable, as i don’t think you necessarily need to splash out on designer products.


Simple Moisturising Face Wash – I’ve only had this for a few weeks, but it leaves your face refreshed and clean, without stripping off all the moisture and leaving it dry.

Garnier Fresh Refining Toner – This feels so refreshing in the morning. You can feel it working to minimise pores and purify the skin. I’ve tried a few highstreet toners and this is the only one that doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky.

No7 Essential Moisture Day Cream – I bought this over christmas, as I wanted a better quality moisturiser that was affordable. The pot is annoying as the glass makes your think its bigger than it is, but as its very rich you don’t need to use much. Well worth the money.

Boots Essential Eye Cream – I know this is very cheap and not the best quality, but as I’m only young I only wanted a product that would reduce the puffiness of my sleepy eyes in the morning. It seems to be doing the job.

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer – I pop this on before makeup, and it leaves my skin silky smooth. It’s the perfect base for foundation, and is a great product for the price!


Nip and Fab Deep Cleansing Fix – I use this to take off my makeup, with a damp flannel. It is awesome. It smells great and melts makeup off. This is sometimes on offer in Superdrug so keep your eyes peeled. So worth it.

Garnier Toner

Nivea Regenerating Night Cream – Putting this on before bed leaves your skin feeling so smooth and soft in the morning. It’s rich and super moisturising, which is what you need overnight. It lasts forever and is so cheap. Bonus.

5 reasons it’s fab to be turning 21!

cant-keep-calm-its-my-21st-birthday-9.pngSo next week it’s my 21st birthday. And although I won’t be pushing a zimmer frame around for a while, I still feel like i’m getting old. But instead of crying over my unappreciated teenage years, I’m going to go celebrate!

1. It’s the ‘big’ birthday.

You can go all out. Why have just a birthday? Have a birth week. Birth month. Party party party.

2. You can get your best lippy out.

If ever there’s a time to run to boots and stock up on lashes and fake tan, now is the time. Plus three hours working on my smokey eye.

3. Have it your way.

Not gunna lie, the best part of birthdays is getting to do whatever you want, having loads of presents and getting your own way. Breakfast in bed please?

4. Life’s still not serious.

Mortgage? Marriage? Bills? Kids? Nah your still living with mom, getting your washing done.

5. CAKE!!

My New Year Makeup Faves


So i’m not gunna lie, I’m a student. Which means these higher end makeup products are what I was lusting over for christmas. And they lived up to expectation.

I was looking for a foundation that I could use everyday, but was buildable to wear on special occasions. Nars sheer glow is perfect, a medium consistency that melts into the skin. I apply it with a Real Techniques buffing brush and blend with their miracle complexion sponge. Only downside is the pump for the foundation is sold separately.

Next is the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I’ve never owned a naked palette before, and they all look so gorgeous. But the smokey one appealed to me as it has a range of great colours, shimmer and mattes. The brush that comes with it is also really good. And the packaging is so pretty!

Last but not least are the Smashbox lipglosses. These were a gift from my mom, and she clearly has such good taste. The pack comes complete with five colours, that are all totally wearable. They aren’t too sticky, which I like, because there’s nothing worse than getting hair stuck in your lipgloss. I’m not sure whether the set is still being sold, but the lipglosses are sold separately, in slightly bigger versions which are definitely worth the investment.

My Fitness Equipment…

Why get a gym membership when you can have one at home!


Sometimes going to the gym is just too inconvenient. Too expensive. Too much effort.

And besides, you don’t need to pay a fortune and need fancy machines to get a good workout. You just need some space on the floor and some motivation!

The first thing I wanna talk about is my mat. I love it. It’s my happy place. I know its a bit cheesy, but I got it not long after I started yoga last year and was all hyped up about being a new yogi. It’s from TKMaxx, was affordable and does the job perfectly. For yoga you ideally need a thin, sticky mat, but it can be used for all floor exercise.

Foam dumbbells, which are handy for toning arms and adding into your workout. Look out on YouTube for dumbbell workouts that will show you numerous ways you can incorporate them. This set comes with a handy manual of exercises to try.

My latest addition is the pilates resistance tubing, which I love. This also comes with instructions, but you can use them in any way you want. They come with three strengths, so you can progress as you get stronger. Also similar to this are the resistance bands, which will help with stretches and toning. Both these products are from TKMaxx. You’ll begin to see my obsession with the place…

Then there’s my little yoga block… Seriously there’s no need to spend loads on these. They’re all just a basic block for helping in yoga, mine was a pound out of primark!

Last but not least is my yoga DVD. This one is by Tara Stiles, and includes 4 DVDs, from beginner routines to nailing every pose. Splashing out on DVDs isn’t necessary though, check out YouTube. Honestly, its free and there’s a video for just about everything. Check out my about me section for my favorite channels.

5 Ways to de-stress


  1. Tea.

I swear by tea. It’s magic. Every time I’ve had a bad day or I’m upset, my family or boyfriend will say “go put your feet up and have a cuppa”. It’s so typically british, but it does make everything a little bit better.

    2.  Books.

This kinda goes hand in hand with number 1. I love nothing better than snuggling down with a good book. Complete bookworm, gimme anything and I will demolish it. And then there’s the ones like Harry Potter that demand to be read a million times…

   3.  Pampering.

I’m such a girl when it comes to this. I have every type of face pack you can imagine. I have lotions and potions for everything, every nail polish colour under the sun. And don’t get me started on bath bombs….

  4. Yoga.

Some days I just want to put me some James Bay on, just chill on my mat. Others I put on a bit of Bieber and sweat it out. Either way I feel great afterwards.

 5. Food.

There are times when a million portions of fruit and veg aren’t hitting the spot. These times require a quick dash to maccies. A call to dominos. A few tubs of ben and jerrys. Pig out. Just maybe hit the gym the next day…

Make Some Time For You- Starting Yoga…


I started yoga just under a year ago. It was exam period and I was being smothered by revision and needed some relief. I came across yoga and thought I’d give it a try, see what the hype is about.

I found a 30 day challenge for beginners, and began my practice everyday. In no time at all I began to love it. The physical side eased me in gently but it was the mental side that I particularly benefited from. The stress just faded, and I felt so free and relaxed afterwards. Exam period then became a breeze (sort of!).

From then I continued doing my own yoga and occasional classes. The progress I was making drove me on, working on poses that made me feel like a proper yogi!

Yoga can be whatever you make it. It can be a way of letting go tension or it can be a calming way to work out and keep in shape.

Sometimes you just need to take twenty minutes out of your busy schedule, take that time for yourself to work on you. Relax. Breathe. Namaste.
