February Favourites!

So this is my first favourites post! I don’t know how it’s march next week, feels like christmas was only yesterday! Anyway here are a few of the random things I’ve been loving over the past month…

Beauty:

Firstly, how gorgeous is this blush palette? I literally use it every day, it has every colour i can want, and even includes two baked shades, to use as highlighter. Also, the brown shades can also be used as contour. It comes in a sleek black shiny palette, with a huge mirror ideal for travel. And to top it off, it was only six pound! If your looking for a blush on a budget this is ideal, especially if you’re unsure what shade to get. This is the ‘sugar and spice’ palette.

Next, the rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick is one i showed in a recent haul post. I thought it would be a typical brown shade similar to what I already owned, but when on it has a burgundy tone, and just suits my skin tone so well. It’s the shade 08.

Lastly the Urban Decay Brush came with my Smokey Palette. I’m pretty sure they sell these separately as well. But for a free brush that comes free it’s so good! There’s a short end for applying precise colour to crease or specific areas, and the fluffy blending end. Love it.

 

The Zara Perfume I had for christmas, and I wear it almost every day for work. Its an easy to wear sweet fragrance, and in such a big  bottle you can afford to slosh it on. It’s called 12:00 Sunday Morning.

The tangle teezer is amazing. If you havent got one, invest. This one has a cover so is perfect to pop in your handbag.

Mark Hill MiracOILicious is a hair mark you pop on in the shower after washing your hair, and you leave it in for two minutes, wash out and boom, silky smooth hair. Such a good idea and perfect when your hair needs some TLC.

 

Fashion

 

I treated myself. I have a slight Ted Baker Addiction at the moment. And when I saw this at an Ted Baker outlet i just had to. I mean how adorable is it. It’s the first ‘designer’ handbag i’ve ever bought myself so I was so excited when I bought it with the rest of my birthday money. It’s such a good size for every day and I’m always a sucker for pink.

The earrings are just one of the many items of jewellery I had for my birthday. These earrings are actually off my brother, bless him. They are perfect to wear with any outfit. Although I’m trying not to wear any of my new jewellery to work as I got my Gucci Bracelet stuck in a test tube rack… as you do.

Random

I know I’m 21 but…. they are so cute! They’re from Primark. I love despicable me, well tbh most kids movies… but these pajamas are just so adorable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I finally have a plant that I haven’t killed! I love this bright plant, it makes my room feel so much brighter and spring-y. I just need to remember to water it….

Quick beauty tips…

So i thought I’d just quickly share some beauty tips that I’ve picked up, either from the endless YouTube videos I watch or ones I’ve gathered myself.

• Have one staple lipstick

Find a lipstick that is the perfect colour for you, that you can put on easily and quicky, and keep it in your handbag. This means on days when you’re in a rush you can apply quickly on the go, with minimal effort or fuss.

• Always keep a fluffy eyeshadow brush clean

This way you always have a brush for blending out your eyeshadow, that wont apply any more unwanted product.

• Use sellotape…

When you’re aiming for a dramatic smokey eye, apply sellotape from the corner of your eye for the end of your eyebrow. Sounds crazy but it helps get a crisp defined smokey cat eye!

• Apply brow powder after foundation

I find that if i apply my brow power straight after foundation, when its slightly damp, it makes the product go on a lot better and last longer.

• Purchase a flat contour brush

These usually come with a contour set, put they are definitely worth getting (see the pictute above). They make contouring so much easier, just blend blend blend!

• Put your facemask in the fridge

I don’t know if this has any real benefit, but it does make it more refreshing! Just popping it in a few minutes before applying can feel more relaxing and pampering on the skin, feeling more refreshed.

• Bronzer as eyeshadow

For a quick and minimal eye look, run a bit of bronzer through your crease. This is also great for when you travel and havent packed big eye palletes.

First impression- L’oreal True Match Crayon Concealer

   
Morning guys! 

So this morning I tried out the new concealer I got yesterday and i thought I’d share my first impressions. 

I’ve been after one of these crayon concealers for a while, as i wanted something slightly more coverage. I’d been using rimmels wake me up concealer which, if I’m honest, I don’t see what the fuss is about. It barely covered anything and creased constantly.

I decided to try this l’oreal one as the simplicity of it seemed really appealing, and there is a good range of colours. I did read quite a few negative reviews about it not blending well and being very dry.

So with this in mind i wacked a load of moisturiser on before i started, and applied the concealer straight after my foundation. The colour is perfect! Matches my fair nars foundation perfectly. And with the warmth of my finger i blended it out around my eyes, nose and blemishes.

 I have to say it looks great! I love the more fuller coverage and ‘flawless’ look it gives you. And i made sure i set it well with powder to last all day. The good thing about crayons is they do tend to last longer without touch ups, and are great for applying on the go.

All in all i am very happy with my purchase.

London Haul…

  
So on Saturday I had a day trip to London to spend all my birthday money, so i thought you could have a nose at what i got…

First was my ted baker makeup bag… Which is so gorgeous! Thought I’d treat myself, and the black glossy large wash bag is to die for. £30 in Selfridges and most department stores.

Then i treated myself to the best lipsticks, rimmel kate moss. These are shades 101 and 08.

  
 I also got miss selfridge jeans, £24 and a sleeveless cardigan from primark £14 which i wore on valentines day. The jeans are so comfy and flattering, if you’re looking for jeans i highly recommend these, and run quick while theyre ten pound off! 
 I finally discovered a love for hollister, and i got this hoodie £35 and tshirt &5.99.

   
And lastly, I couldn’t stop the inner geek potter fan in me..

Me before you – Book Review

  
Let me just start by saying, if you’re after a book to read on the beach or in your lunchbreaks, this is not the one. It’s not exactly confessions of a shopaholic.

But, having said that it is the only book I’ve been completely obsessed with for ages. The kind of book you hate to have to put down before bed. The kind that you think about for hours after you put it down.

I don’t want to give anything anyway so im going to keep it short. It follows the story of Lou, whos recenty lost her cafe job in a small town, and gets one looking after a disabled guy, Will. After an accident, Will is left almost entirely paralysed, living his life in a chair caged in his own little annex. And everything  changes when Lou arrives…

The book is coming out as a movie this year, so if you’re a book-before-the-movie person you need to get a shuffle on.

I’m not gunna lie, im not a huge fan of these “sad” books like Fault in our Stars. When I read I dont want to be sobbing so much i cant read the words. But there’s something different about this book. It’s definitely worth a read.

Just make sure you have tissues nearby.

Why you should try yoga…

  
Everyone thinks you need to be a little bit of rubber to do yoga, but talking from experience you really don’t! 

Anyone can start yoga, and start reaping the benefits straight away! 

1. Exercise for all abilities – whether you’re super fit or avoid the gym like the plague, yoga can be a perfect form of exercise for you, it can be as gentle or as invigorating as you feel.
2. You can get super cute yoga outfits- just one of the many perks of doing yoga is that you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in to do it. But nowadays there are so many funky leggings and funny slogan tops, you just have to join the hype.   
3. It relaxes you – after a yoga class you feel a new sense of calm. Whether you’re stressed from work or suffer from anxiety, yoga can help to just chill you out…
4. You’ll see the progression- once you get more confident, strong and flexible, you’ll be able to conquer more poses and improve visibly.
5. It’s good for your health – yoga boasts numerous health benefits, such as improving digestion, boosting your immune system, helping your cardiovascular system and encouraging happiness.

Valentines day makeup look…

So valentines day is coming up, and if you’re anything like me you plan your makeup before outfits. And while most people try to aim for ‘natural’ looks for these dates, I don’t intend to tone down my makeup, maybe just ‘girly’ it up a bit…

I’m not a professional in makeup, but this is my take on a valentines day look and might hopefully give you some inspiration if you’re going on a date or hanging out with your girlfriends.

This is my finished look.

I did a subtle contour and highlight, which isn’t picked up great in this picture. I used the shimmery shades in the blush palette as a highlight. I used a pinky brown matte eye shade as a base for my shimmery shades, and finished with a little eyeliner flick. I also like to add a lipliner before glosses, to give more definition.

Eventually I will do something more exciting with my hair and wear something special.

My only advice… dress to make you happy, not just to impress someone else.

Post birthday blues…

  
So I’ve just finished celebrating my 21st birthday, and now after such a packed weekend I’m like… What now?

My birthday was perfect, spent with my family and friends, nothing over the top.

  
A lot of champagne was consumed.

 I finally got a phone for my birthday, after accidentally smashing be mine last weekend. 

And I also got a loootttt of jewellery.
