Homemade chocolate and peanut butter protein bars! 

Hi guys!

I created these yesterday and was amazed with how they turned out! They are packed with protein and chocolate peanut flavour so are great for snacks during the day or after a workout. Plus although they are small they are super filling and heavy so a small bar fills you right up. They totally taste the same as naked bars but are way more filling and affordable!


250g of peanut butter 

3 tbsps of honey

90g of oats

4 scoops of chocolate protein powder

1tbsp of cacao powder 

2-5 tbsps of water


Firstly you’ll need to measure your peanut butter and honey and microwave in a plastic bowl for 30 seconds and mix.

Next measure all the rest of the ingredients in a bigger bowl and add the liquid mixture. Mix thoroughly and add as much water as necessary to combine the ingredients. The mix should be stiff and dough like.

Place the mixture in a square tin and push down hard with a fork. These are really filling and heavy so a thin layer is best. 

Place in fridge for half an hour and you’re good to go!

I cut them in to small bars and wrap them individually to take to the gym.

What I eat in a (good) day! 

Helloo guys!

Now before I get into this post let me just say… This is not how I eat every day! Most days I’m sneaking biscuits or shovelling crisps down my throat. But I’m making a conscious effort now to start eating healthier to get in shape for my holiday and so I feel better overall. 

This is what I eat on a typical healthy day in the week, when I’m cooking for just myself and I have time to cook something yummy.


I love having porridge for breakfast as its quick and simple and fills you up! All you need is oats and milk which I always have anyway. Today I threw chai seeds on. These are like little magic seeds, they have so many health benefits, taste of nothing so can go on everything. Buy them in bulk from places like TK Maxx. Then I usually add a fruit like strawberries or raspberries. I had a decaf coffee with this.


For lunch I pretty much always have a wrap with chicken or ham, salad and avacodo. I loveeeee avacodo. And these wraps are chilli flavour which is so much more tasty. I had a cup of tea after this and snacked on some walnuts.


I like to cook and have substantial and hearty meals. Tonight I had chicken casserole with jacket potato and veggies. I like to try new things but also stick with easy and tasty meals like this. I’ll always have a glass of water with my meal. 

After my meals I sometimes have a flavoured green tea, as I’ve read how amazing it is for you. This one is strawberry cupcake flavour which makes the green tea easier to stomach haha!

Evening snack.

Depending on how filling my dinner was, I might have an evening snack around 8 o’clock. Recently I’ve been loving walnuts, I have a massive grab bag to snack on when I’m peckish.

Then I’ll have a cup of tea before bed and more water.

I drink water and squash constantly through the day to keep hydrated.

Natural Skincare: Witch Hazel 

Hi Guys!

I recently discovered this and wanted to share it with you. If you saw one of my recent posts about how I made my own room spray, you’ll see that one of the ingredients is witch hazel. I got it because it acts as a kind of disinfectant as its antibacterial. But when I bought it and checked out the label I actually realised that is a natural astringent, which basically means toner.

The label says “gently tones and cleanses the skin removing excess impurities and makeup”.

I thought I might as well give it a try. I usually research all my skincare so much before I purchase, and scrutinise every little detail. I didn’t expect much from this as it didn’t list the millions of benefits that garnier and Nivea usually boast.

But let me tell you, this has completely changed me. I put a tiny amount on a cotton wool pad and swept it across my face. It didn’t feel sticky like most toners, nor did it leave my skin feeling dry and lacking moisture. Literally my skin felt baby soft in the morning, and it actually helped heal some of my spots and blemishes. 

I’ve also heard that it can help bring out bruises, so it just helps benefit and heal the skin in lots of ways. 

Plus it’s literally so cheap and you can get it anywhere, you probably even have some already in your cupboard at home.

So instead of wasting my money and time on these miracle toners, I’m gunna be reaching for this! One natural ingredient sounds better to me than all these strange chemicals.

10 reasons why it’s fab to live alone!

Hey guys! Hope you’ve had a lovely bank holiday weekend! I went back home this weekend which I love because it means I can see my family and actually spend time with other human beings which I do rarely now I’m on my placement living on my tod. 

Not gunna lie most of the time I struggle being on my own. Mostly because my anxiety flares up and I start going crazy talking to myself. But there are some perks which you start to miss when you go back to living at home. 

1. You can spend all night having a huge Netflix binge and with no judgement.

2. You can eat what ever you like…. Ice cream for dinner anyone?

3. Your rooms can be as messy as you want…you know your phone charger is under three layers of clothes.

4. You can spent 80% of the day in pajamas.

5. “Omg I’m so busy tonight” means emerdale and kardashians is on

6. You can sit doing you makeup with nothing on and be fine with it 

7. You can leave your washing up for when you can actually be bothered… Meaning your not gunna do it after a manicure.

8. You can have a mini rave to Craig David, complete with hair brush and dancing in your pants.

9. You can do a few sit ups and “yoga breathing” and call that your workout for the week.

10. You can go that extra day without washing your hair because there’s nobody there to smell it.

Favourite workout accessories…

It’s that time of the year where we’re all getting ready to start working for that summer body. I’m all for the whole ‘you don’t need any equipment ‘ exercise approach, all you really need is motivation. But for those of us who love to have all the latest things to help us along and get us all geared up to sweat, here’s my favourite fitness accessories I’m loving at the moment.

Women’s Health Magazine

This is my first time buying  this magazine and I bloody love it. I haven’t even finished reading it yet, it’s rammed full of tips, workout routines, recipes, advice plus beauty tips and other general magazine goodness. I was apprehensive of the price but it’s worth every penny. It’s like a little book. And the workouts are perfect to keep coming back to. And the recipes. Love.

This is Yoga – Tara Stiles 4 DVD box set

I’m not all for exercise DVDs if I’m honest. I mean, that’s what youTubes for right? But I invested in this when I had no wifi in my accommodation and it was a life saver. Plus this box set has every kind of yoga workout plus a pose guide. Head to Amazon for a cheap buy.

Resistance bands 

I don’t use these as much as I should but they are great for helping stretch those muscles. They also can be used in a workout, look online for some inspiration. Use the band against the muscle you want to work as an effective and less sweaty workout.

Gym gloves

As soon as I started lifting weights my hands when to shreds. Especially us girls who don’t want peeling blistered hands. They don’t need to be expensive, just make sure you protect those hands. They also help your hands stop slipping.

Yoga mat strap 

As well as the obvious, this can also double up as a tool in yoga, helping you practice those poses where you can’t… Quite… Reach.

Phone exercise arm band

Have you ever wanted to listen to some tunes in your workout, shove your iPod down your bra and when it slips down you have that awkward rummage happening. Well yeah. Here you go. Plus you can also use tracking apps such as strava to monitor your workout. 

Seed shot

This may sound a bizarre accessory but seriously, it’s a fab alternative to shoving donuts in your face post sweat. These are low calorie and contain healthy seeds and dried fruit, with a tasty twist. Yum.

How to get out of a bad mood…

Honestly, some days I just hate being a girl. I could write a whole list of reasons, but the most annoying is that sometimes we have those days where we feel so crap. You have a bad mood for absolutely no reason at all. You wanna sit and wallow in self pity and Ben and Jerrys.

Admittedly, I have these days a lot recently, especially since I’m on my own a lot with only Netflix as company. So I’ve complied a list of ways to get you out of your mood…

Blast some tunes

Bieber never fails. By whacking some loud upbeat music on it really helps you forget why you were down in the first place.  Make a playlist of your favourite songs ready for when you need that burst of energy. 


I love love love getting lost in a book. My go to books are usually rom coms by authors like Lindsey Kelk or Sophie Kinsella. More recently I’ve been loving thrillers, such as Gone Girl or Girl on a Train. But yesterday I splurged on Khloe Kardashians book and it’s definitely my new guilty pleasure. Look out for a post on my favourite books soon.


This might be the last thing you wanna do when you feel crap. But exercise is known to give you a release of endorphins, so it’s like giving yourself a little burst of happy. I promise, that hour at the gym will be worth it.


I’ve recently got into cooking and I actually love it. That is, when it actually turns out alright and I don’t set a tea towel on fire. But get yourself a easy cookbook, or look online and get your apron on.

Have a bath or long shower

Sometimes a bath or shower can be refreshing. It can wash away your bad vibes and start a fresh. Get some lush bath bombs going on, or a face mask and enjoy.

Clean and tidy

This might sound a strange one. But if you’re living in a mess your minds going to be a mess. Tidying will make you feel more organised and put together afterwards. 

Plan something exciting 

If you haven’t got something planned in the next few months, a day trip, night out, holiday etc. Plan one. Then you can google all about it and get all excited. Having something to look forward to is key to getting through the crap times. I always check out the place I’m going on holiday in summer, or where I’m going to go on my next shopping trip.

Lift like a girl…

So I’ve always been a “fit” person, regularly exercise either running or going to the gym, and more recently yoga. But a few weeks ago I did my first body pump and completely didn’t know what I was getting myself into. The first thing they asked me was how much I lift…. Argh! I can’t even carry my shopping back from tesco! 

So yeah, it killed me. But I also loved it and loved the achy muscles I had the next day, a trophy of my hard work. And I wanted to do more. Weights aren’t all about getting massively muscular. I don’t want to look like the hulk. I just want to be strong and toned and healthy.

But when girls enter the free weight section of the gym, it feels like ‘male territory’. I know it’s ridiculous but I’m sure I’m not the only girl that feels intimidated to step into the “man area”. But one day I just thought… Why the hell should I? I don’t care what anyone else thinks, I’m gunna work out and leave, and probably never see them again.

As well as appearing more toned I think building my strength will help with yoga. For example, I’ve been working on my handstands that require a lot of upper body strength. And I even have lickle baby muscles forming! 

So I think it’s time we kick those boys out and take over the weights. Get hench! 

At the very least it’ll make carrying the shopping back easier…

My Fitness Equipment…

Why get a gym membership when you can have one at home!


Sometimes going to the gym is just too inconvenient. Too expensive. Too much effort.

And besides, you don’t need to pay a fortune and need fancy machines to get a good workout. You just need some space on the floor and some motivation!

The first thing I wanna talk about is my mat. I love it. It’s my happy place. I know its a bit cheesy, but I got it not long after I started yoga last year and was all hyped up about being a new yogi. It’s from TKMaxx, was affordable and does the job perfectly. For yoga you ideally need a thin, sticky mat, but it can be used for all floor exercise.

Foam dumbbells, which are handy for toning arms and adding into your workout. Look out on YouTube for dumbbell workouts that will show you numerous ways you can incorporate them. This set comes with a handy manual of exercises to try.

My latest addition is the pilates resistance tubing, which I love. This also comes with instructions, but you can use them in any way you want. They come with three strengths, so you can progress as you get stronger. Also similar to this are the resistance bands, which will help with stretches and toning. Both these products are from TKMaxx. You’ll begin to see my obsession with the place…

Then there’s my little yoga block… Seriously there’s no need to spend loads on these. They’re all just a basic block for helping in yoga, mine was a pound out of primark!

Last but not least is my yoga DVD. This one is by Tara Stiles, and includes 4 DVDs, from beginner routines to nailing every pose. Splashing out on DVDs isn’t necessary though, check out YouTube. Honestly, its free and there’s a video for just about everything. Check out my about me section for my favorite channels.

5 Ways to de-stress


  1. Tea.

I swear by tea. It’s magic. Every time I’ve had a bad day or I’m upset, my family or boyfriend will say “go put your feet up and have a cuppa”. It’s so typically british, but it does make everything a little bit better.

    2.  Books.

This kinda goes hand in hand with number 1. I love nothing better than snuggling down with a good book. Complete bookworm, gimme anything and I will demolish it. And then there’s the ones like Harry Potter that demand to be read a million times…

   3.  Pampering.

I’m such a girl when it comes to this. I have every type of face pack you can imagine. I have lotions and potions for everything, every nail polish colour under the sun. And don’t get me started on bath bombs….

  4. Yoga.

Some days I just want to put me some James Bay on, just chill on my mat. Others I put on a bit of Bieber and sweat it out. Either way I feel great afterwards.

 5. Food.

There are times when a million portions of fruit and veg aren’t hitting the spot. These times require a quick dash to maccies. A call to dominos. A few tubs of ben and jerrys. Pig out. Just maybe hit the gym the next day…

Make Some Time For You- Starting Yoga…


I started yoga just under a year ago. It was exam period and I was being smothered by revision and needed some relief. I came across yoga and thought I’d give it a try, see what the hype is about.

I found a 30 day challenge for beginners, and began my practice everyday. In no time at all I began to love it. The physical side eased me in gently but it was the mental side that I particularly benefited from. The stress just faded, and I felt so free and relaxed afterwards. Exam period then became a breeze (sort of!).

From then I continued doing my own yoga and occasional classes. The progress I was making drove me on, working on poses that made me feel like a proper yogi!

Yoga can be whatever you make it. It can be a way of letting go tension or it can be a calming way to work out and keep in shape.

Sometimes you just need to take twenty minutes out of your busy schedule, take that time for yourself to work on you. Relax. Breathe. Namaste.
